Input Device: a device that enters information into a computer.

Output Device: a device that presents data from a computer to a user.

Storage Device: a devices that records and stores data.

Scanner

Changes images into digital data that a computer can undersatand.

Read-only memory (ROM)

A permanent type of memory storage used by the computer for important data that doesn't change.

Random access memory (RAM)

Used to temporarily store information with which the computer is currently working.

Plotter

An output device that draws graphs or pictures, usually by moving a pen.

Output Devices

A device, such as a printer, video display, or speaker, that presents data from a computer to a user.

Nonimpact printers

A printer that creates images without mechanically impacting the page, as an ink-jet or laser printer.

Mouse: Network drive

The mouse is the primary device for navigating and interacting with the computer.

CD-ROM

A compact disk on which a large amount of digitized read-only data can be stored.

Byte

The combinations of bits used to represent a particular letter, number, or special character.

Bit

A digit in the binary number system that has two values, 0 or 1.

AMerican Standard Code for Information Iterchange (ASCII)

ASCII code are numbers used by computers to represent all the upper and lower-case latin letters, numbers, punctuation, etc.
